EDN does not provide school transportation services.

However, various private companies propose van transportation to and from multiple regions across the island.

NB: École du Nord’s Secretariat will provide their contact details but shall not be held accountable for vehicles’ compliance and adherence to the law. The National Transport Authority (NTA, Port Louis) oversees the regulation and control of public transport vehicles, including school buses ([email protected] and [email protected]).

Registrations
EDN families wishing to register must do so directly with the transport companies every year.

Seats are allocated on a “first come, first served” basis, irrespective of the type of journey (one-way v/s round-trip).

At the start of the new school year, selected transport companies are usually on site to chat to families looking for school transportation services.

EDN transport charter
This Charter ensures students’ safety, enforces best practices and excludes transport companies that do not respect these basic rules.

Upon this selection, the school will propose the following Charter:
Only selected buses may be allowed to park close to entrances.
A list of signatory transport companies is available on the website, for information purposes only.
At the start of the new school year, selected transport companies will be on site to chat to families looking for school transportation services.

The school shall have no dealings with non-signatory transport companies.

Selected transport companies are requested to work together to reduce routes and travelling times, as well as offer possible pick-ups at 2:20 or 3:30 pm.

To improve the quality and safety of the school transport service, we rely on you to:
– Request the Charter from transport companies;
– Accept pick-ups from a different van than the one used in the morning, so as to fit students’ schedules.
