In the event of an alert, notice of closure or evacuation, the school will keep you updated via the website and/or Facebook page, as well as through emails.
A “heavy rain” warning does not mean classes will be suspended. It may however progress to a “torrential rain” warning if the situation worsens, encouraging the Ministry of Education to close schools if they deem it necessary.
The procedure is as follows:
● Students stay safe in their classrooms, under the responsibility of their teacher.
● If the situation worsens and the school must close, a message on the website and/or Facebook page, as well as a mass mailing, will be sent to parents, inviting them to pick up their children – from class for primary school students and from the school’s office for middle schoolers. Students riding the bus will leave within an hour following the sending of the “notice of closure” message – escorted to the parking lot by their primary school teacher – if the situation on the road is safe, hence giving families enough time to make the necessary arrangements.
● Remaining students (from primary and secondary school) will join their teachers in the multi-purpose hall.
