The infirmary welcomes:

● A Nurse on duty every day from 7:30 am to 4 pm;
● A school Doctor on Mondays from 8:30 am to 2 pm and on Wednesdays from 8:30 am to 12 pm.

Many missions need to be fulfilled:
● Nurse on duty during recess, for emergency care and other minor medical cases.
If it is serious or if your child needs medication, the Nurse will contact you. She will also ask that you come pick up your child if needed.

If your child is ill, please keep him/her at home for his/her own well-being as well as that of other students.

If your child is absent, please inform the Secretariat (primary school) or school office (middle school), explaining the reason so we may respond accordingly.

● Medical care for students who need medication during school hours.
If your child suffers from a chronic illness requiring treatment, contact the Nurse who, together with the Doctor and teachers, will set up a Projet d’Accueil Individualisé (PAI).

A kind reminder that children are not allowed to bring medicine to school. If your child needs medication for a few days, we suggest you adapt the time when s/he takes his/her medicines so it may be done at home. For instance, if your child needs to take his/her medication 3 times a day, you may administer same at 7 am, 2.30 pm and 8 pm. With a Doctor’s prescription and a note from the parents, the Nurse can give the child his/her medication at recess.

● Screening for any health, learning or psychological issues, during health checks
(mandatory for GS, CM2 students, new students and all those who need it).
These visits are also an opportunity to check students’ vaccination status.
A kind reminder that all children born before 2018 must be vaccinated against tetanus/diphtheria/polio (at the French government’s request) and measles/mumps/rubella (at the Mauritian government’s request), in order to attend school.

● Following up with teachers on students presenting difficulties, in order to find the best solutions for their personal development and academic success.

● Prevention and health education through various interventions, carried out throughout the year following teachers’ projects or the school’s CESC (Health and Citizenship Education Committee).
