Our Governance

Message from the Chairman of the Management Board

Dear Families,

I am writing to you on behalf of the newly elected committee of the École du Nord Association (AEN), appointed during the Annual General Meeting held on 27 March 2025.

The AEN plays an active role in the management and development of École du Nord, working closely with the school’s leadership team. This distinctive model, based on dialogue, cooperation, and shared interests, places our children at the heart of every decision.

Each year, a committee of twelve volunteer parents is elected. Through various working groups, we work alongside the academic, administrative, and technical teams to support our students’ success and contribute to the well-being of our school community.

This year, the new committee wishes to undertake a comprehensive reflection by defining a medium- and long-term strategic vision. Our objective is to establish a clear, shared, and ambitious roadmap that will strengthen the coherence of the school’s development plan and ensure its long-term sustainability.

This work will result in the drafting of a “master plan” that will incorporate regional development perspectives and guarantee, over time, a level of education and services in line with the standards and reputation of École du Nord. This document will also guide concrete short-term improvements, particularly in relation to parking, catering, and infrastructure.

We are fortunate to be supported by committed, skilled, and passionate teams. Together with you, we will continue to help our wonderful school grow and thrive.

We look forward to speaking with you soon.

Kind regards,

Mrs. Delphine Espitalier-Noël

The Management Board of Ecole du Nord : run by parents for parents

École du Nord is managed by parents. Its future depends on the commitment and contribution of each and every one of us.

The governance of École du Nord is ensured by the École du Nord Association (AEN), which is responsible for the school’s sound administrative and financial management. The AEN approves the annual budget, employs both teaching and non-teaching staff under local contracts, and determines the school’s main strategic directions in close collaboration with the leadership team.

The AEN operates as a collective governing body in the interests of all stakeholders and serves the entire parent community by ensuring the long-term success of École du Nord. Through its representatives, it also contributes to the development of Lycée des Mascareignes, which it co-founded alongside École du Centre. The AEN is committed to supporting students’ academic, educational, and personal development from nursery through to secondary education.

The AEN Management Board is composed of twelve parents elected from among the members of the AEN. Their selection is made through a vote at the Annual General Meeting, taking into account the specific characteristics and needs of the school.

The Management Board ensures the establishment of the specialised working groups required for the effective fulfilment of its mission. It also appoints each year its representatives to the Management Board of Lycée des Mascareignes.

The Commissions team help prepare the agenda of the AEN Committee. They work with the school’s management team to evaluate current issues and offer guidance in situations overseen by the AEN. The Commissions welcome volunteer parents with valuable expertise: Architects, Chartered Accountants, Lawyers, HR Managers, CEOs, etc.

EDN’s management team holds two votes on the AEN Committee. Similarly, the AEN holds two consultative votes on the School Board.
