L’Association de l’École du
Nord (AEN): Run by
parents for parents

The AEN ensures the sound administrative and financial management of EDN. It sets the annual budget, hires teaching and non-teaching staff under local laws and makes major strategic decisions, working in close collaboration with the school’s management team.

The AEN acts as a collegiate body serving the interests of parents and various other stakeholders, ensuring the long-term success of EDN and, through its representatives, of the Lycée des Mascareignes, which it co-founded with École du Centre.

The AEN ensures its students’ educational, academic and personal success, from nursery to high school.

EDN’s working process

The Board as at 30 March 2022

The AEN Board welcomes 12 parents elected amongst AEN members. Their seats on the Board are determined by vote at the Annual General Meeting, taking into consideration the school’s specificities.

The Board sets up specialised committees to carry out its mission and appoints its representatives on the Lycée des Mascareignes’ Management Committee every year.

Commissions and
Board members’ responsibilities

The Commissions team help prepare the agenda of the AEN Committee. They work with the school’s management team to evaluate current issues and offer guidance in situations overseen by the AEN. The Commissions welcome volunteer parents with valuable expertise: Architects, Chartered Accountants, Lawyers, HR Managers, CEOs, etc.

EDN’s management team holds two votes on the AEN Committee. Similarly, the AEN holds two consultative votes on the School Board.
